I've seen Peter dozens of times, and each show is better than the last. Must see for any guitarists or blues/jazz lovers.

You had to be there (release party) to appreciate excellence in the quality of musical entertainment. A truley fantastic performance by an incredibly gifted group of musicians, led by Peter Parcek, a gentleman of great character and God given talent. The CD "Evolution" is just AWESOME, a super mix of fantastic tunes! Everyone should have one of these babies! Ron W

I went to Peter Parcek's gig at The Regattabar In The Charles Hotel on 1/6/2000 . Having meet Peter a few months before, this was my first chance to hear the man play. Usually it's tuff listening to an artist or groop without hearing some recorded music prior to a live show. "Not The Case Here" at all, Peter walked in and caught my attention first with his humble demeanor and then again with his music . Peater's guitar playing had me rubber-necking around the crowd so to see, just what his hands were doing at all times. I left humming somthing or other about ...... ...Too make a monkey out'a me.... Of course I have The Evolution CD in my collection now and Peter was nice enough to write a few words on the inner sleeve to me . .........Thank You, Peter. .........Dan McIntyre

If you are at all interested in the guitar, you owe it to yourself to check out Peter Parcek. I have been to the Regatta Bar show(s), and having followed Peter's playing for several years now, I am consistently impressed at how he seems to get better every time. (Maybe this has something to do with the cd title "evolution"?) He is extremely tuned in to the blues, and he really stretches the limits of all the songs he plays. I don't know anyone who has seen him play and walked away without a mixture of shock and admiration. He's THAT good. Incredible sensitivity, monstrous technique, gorgeous tone, and a consistently groovy band behind him, Peter's music always swings. I brought my copy of the CD "Evolution" to a 4th of July party. No one but me had ever heard Peter before, but the hosts (who are DAMN picky about music) left the cd in the changer--it must have played 5 or 6 times all the way through, and everyone liked it. I love the cd myself, but like I said, you HAVE to see Peter play live. I listen to loads of guitarists and seen many big names live. When it comes to really tearing up some blues, I'v never seen anyone who can hold a candle to Peter Parcek.

!html> !body>I have known Peter since 1982 when we both worked as cashiers in the Harvard Coop record department in Harvard Square. I was blown away by the fact that someone with such a mild-mannered personality could totally rip up the frets the way does! !p>There is a really strong, positive feeling about the way Peter plays, and that's why I was so happy to have him featured on several cuts on my first CD which was recorded in 1988 and was called "Open House" (now out of print).!p> I certainly hope to have the great good fortune to play with Mr. Parcek again sometime in the future. Keep up the good work, Peter! !p>Best wishes from Harry Miller !br> http://www.harrymillermusic.com

Its simple. Peter burns. He plays "out" blues lines with stunning fluidity. I first heard him play at The Silouette Lounge in around 1990 and was stunned. I really hadn't heard anyone play like that before. I wasn't yet turned on to Robben Ford and his West Coast ilk and, so, this was my first exposure to burning, aggressive bop-infused blues. Over the last 10 years my own playing has improved and I've heard most of the essential players of this genre. And I've heard them live. I saw Peter again a few weeks ago at The Chit Chat Lounge and he just smoked. I've never seen anything like it. You could just hear him think and explore and cry and scream. Its possible Robben Ford played played that raw and over the top at some point in his career, but not anymore. Noone else has moved me like that. The fact that more people don't know about Peter makes me want to scream. Thanks Peter and we're waiting for the live album.
