My singing career began 6 years ago with a band called the Mudhens. We recorded 3 albums, and developed a following from Canda to Philidelphia. With the Mudhen's I had the honor of opening up for performers such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, 10,000 Maniacs, Cake, Guster, Ben Folds Five, The Push Stars and Primus. We were nominated for a Boston Music Award in 1998 and had 2 songs on the top 40 lists of 2 national charts. Last summer, I decided to branch out and record my own album of recently written songs. "Pulling Down Sky" was produced by Chris Lannon at the Research Kitchen, and features appearances from many Boston artists including Jake Shapiro (Two Ton Shoe), Steve Sadler (who recently toured with Shawn Mullins), Ken Clark, and members of the Mudhens. The album contains music that has been labled folk, rock, pop, Celtic and country. My musical influences range from The Rolling Stones to Bob Marley to Carol King. Bruce Springsteen and Joni Mitchell remain my favorite lyricists. I currently perform in venues ranging from coffeehouse to concert hall & I play in configurations from an acoustic duo to a full electric band. I hope you enjoy this album. Thank you for your support! Carla
