PRESS RELEASE FROM EUROPEAN TOUR '2002' Badische Neueste Nachrichten Achern-Fautenbach. There was another virtuoso storm of sound down at the "Wagen" in Fautenbach with a footstomping performance by The Gregg Miller Group from Boston, USA, playing at the invitation of the Kulturverein Abraxas. This was blues at its finest, and the audience loved it! The tour by the three man band had been arranged at short notice. Just a few months ago, Egbert Ramin, a small publisher based in Singen, was in the USA; he came into contact with The Gregg Miller Group for the first time when he heard them performing at a well known club in New Orleans. "They just blew me away!" Ramin told us at the "Wagen". He booked the group for an Open Air Festival ("Der Hegau bebt") and arranged another eight appearances in Germany and Switzerland as part of a mini-tour. Playing at the "Wagen", the "Millers" let rip with a straight forward, rock-hard R&B sound that had the audience literally pressed into there seats. Gregg Miller, who guards his 40 year old hand crafted guitar like a precious treasure (he never goes anywhere without it) played like a genius as he coaxed a riot of exciting sounds out of the strings. Some of the highlights of the concerts included a couple of hell-fire Jimi Hendrix adaptations, including a fabulous "Voodoo Child" - unforgettable! But Miller's many own compositions - which are all featured on his first CD entitled "Welcome to Mother Earth" - also bare the uncompromising and highly original Miller stamp.
