Josh Ritter is a twenty-two year old singer/songwriter from Moscow, Idaho, who now tours out of Providence, RI. A recent graduate of Oberlin College (and originally a neuroscience major, before turning to songwriting), during the past four years Josh became a staple of the Ohio folk scene, opening for some of the larger folk/rock acts that came to the area, such as Gillian Welch and Carrie Newcomer, as well as selling out several shows of his own. Josh's music has been compared to the likes of Nick Drake, John Prine, Tom Waits, and the Silver Jews, as Ritter brings a slow-burning, ethereal flavor to the American folk tradition.
