After two full-length albums from Seed/Atlantic, Hilken Mancini probably knows what she does and doesn't want. When she and Chris Toppin started Fuzzy five years ago, it was as much social club as band and unlike so many others from that period they remain a strong team in an era of me-generation solo artists. Back then, David Ryan from the Lemonheads was the drummer and, with Winston Braman on bass, they toured America continually behind their first and second albums, Fuzzy and Electric Juices . They became perennial favorites on college radio and at progressive alternative stations. Fuzzy's peerless melodies and unrelenting backups made it clear during that period that the two front women of Fuzzy were singers' singers. They've been featured on loads of recorded material including records from Juliana Hatfield, Tom Leach, Bill Janovitz, and Tanya Donelly.Hurray For Everything is the culmination of two years of hard work and perseverance. When they parted company with Seed/Tag/Atlantic and eventually David Ryan left the band, Fuzzy took time to find the right replacement and to look for another avenue to release their music. Boston local hearthrob Nate Darden won the vacated drummer's job and his addition to the band changed the writing method to a more collaborative process. Mega-Indie label, Catapult Records, picked up the band at the end of 1998 and Fuzzy set about pulling together a recording project that had been slowly growing since Electric Juices was released two years ago. A long hiatus like this one might have killed another band but Fuzzy remains fearless.
