Lovetrain is a 4-piece rock and roll band from Providence, RI. Since forming in 1991 the band has released a cassette entitled Off the Track in 1992, and a CD in April of 200 entitled Almost Home. The CD was listed as number 10 in Bob Gulla's "local anesthesia" column in The Providence Phoenix for Homegrown releases of 2000. It was also nominated for Best Local Album in The Phoenix's "Best of 2000" Poll.The members of Lovetrain are Dan Lilley -- vocals, guitar, harmonica; Mike Sullivan -- lead guitar; John Amitrano -- bass, harmony vocals; and Phil Hicks -- drums. The band's sound has been described as "falling somewhere between the wise-guy pop of Graham Parker, the Jersey sounds of the Boss, and the roots-rock sound of Cracker."
