Emmy Cerra grew up in Massachusetts and thats about as specific as we get. At 24 years old, Emmy has moved 32 times so far and 30 of those locations were in Massachusetts. Her life changed with the seasons and the only thing that remained consistent was music (and Mass traffic of course.) Growing up listening to Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots, Emmy always liked the sound of their acoustic sets, which seem to communicated the feeling of the song more than the original produced album they were promoting. Emmy started to understand that for her, it was all about writing and singing with such emotion that you don't need lots of production, you need to make room for the soul. Emmy's music is so intimate, when you listen to her songs, you feel like you are right there in the room with her. The combination of vocals, which range from soft and smooth to soulful and penetrating, and her contemplative lyrics makes for an extraordinary album that is truly Metamorphic. Emmy Cerra plays all of the instruments on the album and also engineered/recorded half of it herself. Control freak? Not really. In control of her music? Yes. Combining her grooves with the incredible ability to express herself through her lyrics, her fans can expect an incredible album very shortly. Emmy Cerra has lent her talents to benefits such as The September Concerts in New York City, as well as the Go-Girls Music Festival which supports the Rock and Roll Camp for Girls in Portland, Oregon. She has opened up for Beth Hart and has played with the likes of Jess Klein, Andy Moore and many talented musicians up and down the east coast.
