Revelation began in the mid 80's as an original melodic band playing the Boston circuit. They frequently played clubs like The Channel, Club 3, The Rockpile, and Derringer's. Their music featured driving riffs and whaling guitar leads by founding member Jay Giampapa, and powerful soaring melodies by vocalist John Cannon. After numerous personnel changes, the band joined forces with members of an instrumental fusion rock trio. The variety of musical backgrounds gave Revelation a progressive edge and unique sound. The new line up featured aggressive timing, and syncopated feels by drummer Mike Coste and Bassist Dave Melo, Complimented by dynamic rhythms and graceful harmonies by guitarist Paul Coste. Revelation continued playing the original club scene. Clubs started to fill up, their songs were getting air play, and several local record labels took interest. The band continued playing for three years trying to land a record deal, winning battle of the bands in the process. However, all good things things must come to an end, or at least take a break. After a 2 year silence the band has reformed.
